Ocean City's first Doo Dah Parade took place on April 19, 1986. City publicist Mark Soifer brought the event to town, drawing on Pasadena's comedic take on the Rose Parade. Each spring, it takes place around Tax Day, and it is best known for its marching basset hounds.
